party of 5
I know next to nothing about Ethiopian food, so this was an adventure and at the end of it I can say I’m glad I went.
No one warned me that this was an eat-with-your-hands experience. It is. And I went during flu season. And I didn’t get sick after. (Still, nice to know in advance.)
Since the 5 of us ordered a bunch of items that came on a platter I can’t distinguish which things I liked and which I didn’t care for, but nothing was terrible. Nothing was spectacular, either (see previous note about me knowing nothing about this culture of food).
The service was fine…very middle-of-the-road.
I won’t be rushing back, but you should try it if you’re up for some new flavours. The place was pretty busy (several parties of 5+), and we were there on a week night, so that’s a good sign. Very good downtown location, parking was relatively easy to find.
Seemed to have a decent selection of alcoholic beverages, so the next time I go, it’ll probably be for drinks.
Overall, not crazy impressed, but I liked the new experience.
